A Note regarding the corona virus

As you may be aware, Shelby County has a confirmed case of COVID-19 (commonly referred to as coronavirus). The safety of all our clients (those that visit our facility and those to whom we travel for services) is a top priority for us. As part of the healthcare community, we understand how important our massage services can be in reducing stress and maintaining your health. We thought we would take a moment to let you know about the cleanliness practices we’ve always had in effect:

  • All our massage tables and chairs are cleaned with a hospital grade disinfectant and/or a 90% alcohol solution between each client.
  • Between each client, all staff disinfects any body parts that might come into contact with a client during a massage session (hands, feet, forearms, elbows). This happens when you come to our facility, as well as when we go to your facility.
  • Each client gets a fresh set of linens, laundered in hot water using eco-friendly, plant-powered detergent.
  • For chair massage, each client gets a fresh face cradle cover, in addition to having the chair wiped down before and after their session.
  • All equipment is sterilized after each use. This includes hot stones, heating pads, etc.
  • At our facility, seating areas, door handles, surfaces, coat racks and knobs are wiped down with disinfectant frequently.

We want to assure you that we’re doing everything we can to keep you and our staff safe. Have an amazing day!

Although it sounds a little like a sneeze, broken down, the word "ashi" means foot and "atsu" means pressure. Ashiatsu is a Japanese massage that dates back to the 12th century. Ashiatsu uses bare feet in a combination of massage strokes to manipulate the body's meridians (paths of the positive or negative energy that are associated with various parts of the body). Once you've tried it you will be sold.

For relaxation, increased circulation and pain relief, Swedish massage is your answer. Also good for relief of headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and various other physical and mental ailments.

If you have muscle tension, but prefer a light-medium pressure massage, hot stone massage might be for you. Heat from the stones warms and relaxes the muscles and allows the therapist to work out tension with less pressure. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

about memphis massage masters

My name is Emma Crystal and I am a licensed massage therapist. My mission is to aid each client's healing process, whether physical or mental, to the best of my ability, always listening to their comments, questions and mostly, their bodies. It is my sincerest wish that each client leave a massage session feeling relaxed, cared for and as if they have experienced at least a small piece of heaven. And when I'm on a mission, I'm on a mission! My primary objective is to provide services so good that not only will clients return again and again, but they will also recommend me to others.

For over 15 years, I worked as a computer technician, troubleshooting and resolving software issues, repairing computers, etc. That was my day job. Before that I was a performing artist, beginning as a dancer trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and ballroom styles and finally branching into musical theatre. From there, I began choreographing shows, musicals, operas, etc. for different companies and schools in the area. Looks like a lot, right? Try doing it all at the same time! Yes, I worked on computers during the day, danced, sang and acted my heart out at night and took deep breaths in between.

Through all this, I felt a need to make people feel better by massaging tight shoulders during long shifts behind the computer, on breaks at the theatre and at my house. With my hands, I could bring quick relief and help others to focus better, de-stress and relax. That felt good! So when the computer world started to chafe more than usual, I knew exactly where I needed to go.

My massage therapy training was intense and very thorough. I have the Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage to thank for that. Because of their care and guidance, I have been able to provide quality therapeutic massage to hundreds of clients. I look forward to serving you!
